Sixth week of collaboration…

During the sixth week of collaboration we were working with architecture. We’re giving our briefings. During this we were told that we had to create a video about a space and how it makes you feel. I struggled a little more with this project a little as I weren’t quite sure how to express myself as much.

We did manage to find a really good space in the management building. With this really tall metal wall. We thought this would be such a great space for our video as there was a lot of things to talk about. We filmed this space from different angles. Then when back to the room to edit them in movie maker I felt a bit useless at this point as Dylan was the one who was editing as none of us knew how to use movie maker. So Dylan put them al together creating a really cool video of our space. Before calling it a day, we all decided that Monday night we would spend that time figuring out what we would say about this wall. I found this quite difficult as I weren’t quite sure how to word it. So Chloe did step up and helped me put it into words of what I was trying to say.

Tuesday morning we filmed ourselves in the library. It wasn’t the easiest of tasks as I felt quite nervous in speaking into the microphone. But overall it was great after a few take each we all filmed ourselves. Putting it together was a little more difficult as we had a few technical difficulties. We weren’t sure how to add the background music as well as the speaking but after a few YouTube tutorials we were able to fit them all in.

Overall I would think the video was a success and I think we all work really well as a group and I enjoyed working with them all. Due to being in Milan I weren’t able to be there for the presentation of the video which was quite disappointing as we weren’t able to present our hard work. Overall I would say this week has been a success.

Fifth week of collaboration…

During the fifth week of collaboration we were working in fashion. We were given the brief on Monday morning. We were told that we had to create a photoshoot within our group using the fashion vs sculpture dresses.

We were originally two little groups but we joined as one making us a group of 8. We all gather together and decided to split, some looking for models and others looking for location. We message a girl asking but never got a response so last minute Chloe and Ada (two group members) stepped up and modelled. During the Monday we put together some light inspiration boards, found out models and a location.

We decided to use fairy lights and sparklers. I provided the lights and Chloe brought in the sparklers. We also decided on dr martins so we brought also supplied them and Ada supplied the makeup.

During tuesday we discussed make up, hair and styling. Me and Chloe again put together some boards.

On Wednesday we did our shoot and it went amazingly, we used Ian to take our photos and it was such an experience. Although the weather was freezing the models manage to work through it and done so well. Ada did the make and I done the hair. The style worked really well with our shoot, as it was really grunge and edgy.

Our first location was the ladder, we used my sculpture dress and Chloe modelled it, we wrapped the lights around the ladder which worked really well with the shadowing and and the pvc on my dress.

The second location was the bike shed, we used Daisy’s dress for this shoot and Ada was modelling, she worked really well. We used the flashes on the camera to create shadows from the bars.

Our third location was by a brick wall on the art block, we picked a grey brick wall by a little light using that as a small spotlight which worked really well with our shoot. Chloe modelled again for this shoot this time wearing her dress. We also used sparklers and Ada also joined this shoot.

Overall this little project went really well. We didn’t have a few people who didn’t contribute to the work as much but we were able to work through it anyway. Our overall pictures turned out incredible and with a few little touch ups on photoshop (Dylan, James, Chloe and me who edited) they were ready for presenting.

The presentation it’s self went really well. Our whole group were in for it and we presented fairly well, our tutors seemed really happy with our final outcome as were we. Which was incredible because we put a lot of effort and hard work into the photoshoot and it paid off.
